Chamber Music Weekend Course - Music of Beethoven

A special celebratory chamber Music Course looking at the music of Beethoven in Celebration of his 250th Birthday.

The Chamber Music Course – Beethoven will run from the Afternoon of Friday the 2nd  October to Lunchtime on the 4th of October 2020

Building on the success of our annual Chamber Music Summer School in August we now have another smaller weekend course for amateur string players (violin, viola and cello). Each year this course will focus on the music of a particular composer.  In celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday year, the 2020 course will be devoted to him and his fabulous music.

The course is small, friendly and relaxed and is suitable for players of approximately grade 6 and above (if you don’t know what level you might be, just get in touch and we can help). A maximum of 16 participants play alongside our excellent tutors in quartets, trios, & quintets. During the course you work intensively on a piece with the option to perform it informally on the final morning of the course.

Please visit the Chamber Music Summer School page to experience what our courses are like. This course is an intense burst of music making and prior preparation of music will be required. We will send out music as soon as possible.

Our tutors are leading professional musicians who work across the UK and beyond in some leading orchestras and ensembles.

The essence of the course is to play music in a relaxed and informal setting and with lovely people, great food and great music. A unique and popular feature of the course is that the tutor plays alongside the participants as a member of the ensemble, but preformed quartets are welcome to apply, and the tutors will work with the whole group.

We do not provide accommodation but can put you in touch with local places to stay. You can also camp at Nantwen for an additional charge of £25 per night (inclusive of a simple continental breakfast), for more information please just ask.

The course runs from 1pm on Friday to 2pm on Sunday.
